Key Lime Pie

Key Lime Pie



fresh limes
graham crackers
lime jello
sweet & condensed milk
cool whip

Graham cracker crust
1 1/4 c. ground graham cracker crumbs  (about 1 pkg of graham crackers)
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter

Cook 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes

1 c. boiling water
3 oz pkg. lime jello dissolved
Stir in sweet & condensed milk  (use 1/4 can of sweet and condensed milk)* 
1/2 c. lime juice (about 3-4 limes)
1 to 2 tsp. lime peel
1-12 oz cool whip  (I used whip cream)

Refrigerate in bowl
Reserve half of whipped topping in gelatin mixture
Refrigerate for 3 hours-put rest of cool whip on top
Sprinkle with lime peel

*(I believe this recipes call for 1 can of sweet and condensed milk.  I made it with about 1/4 of a cup of sweet and condensed milk and it was delicious.  I could taste the limes better. It was more tart.
