1/4 c. oil
1 large chopped onion
1 pkg lentils
2 qts water
1 t. seasonal
1 bay leaf
1 T. chicken base
Cook together for 1-1/2 hours. Add extra water if needed.
Then add-
5 carrots chopped
4 celery sticks chopped
salt and pepper to taste
Diced ham or hamhock
When carrots begin to get tender, add 1 large can tomatoes that have been put through the blender.
Cook a little longer
